I was excused.  And I won't be going next week either due to going to a NBA
game.  I don't know if I will go the rest of this month. I had a run in with
the leader of my chapter.  I joined in Aug. of last year, and she knew I was a
past leader in other chapters, 8 years worth.  I guess I am a threat to her.
I ask if I can make a suggestion during the meeting, regarding the programs
and she said yes.  Then after the meeting took me aside and called me on it
saying I was undermining her authority by making suggestions regarding giving
a heads up to the next person in line to do the program.  I didn't think
asking if you can make a suggestion was a bad thing.  Prior to this she talked
to me on the phone re: how to get members to do programs.  I explained how
past chapters I had been in passed a calendar around to pick on dates they
wanted.  Well... low and behold 2 months later she comes up with this
brilliant idea and presents it to the chapter.  Yep...   So after being called
on the carpet for undermining her authority she told me at the meetings if I
have something to say, think about it hard, and keep my mouth shut.
So I just don't feel welcome right now.  If the new leadership that was
elected tonight runs the same sort of ship... I am bailing out.
What I find interesting is when I joined in August we had 45 members now we
have 25.... hmmm
