I guess I need to make my self clearer. I told my leader that I would
not be running next year for co-leader and I gave her time to talk to
others in our chapter who have the skills to be leader we have one lady
who happened to win who would be really great at it no making others
feel guilty or making then do something that they really did not want to
do. I am going to be assistant-treasurer which means when our treasurer
is out of town (she travels and has health issues) I will take the money
count it put it in a envelope and wait for her to get back for her to do
something with it. I may do a lot of programs those are easy for me
usually. I just have a feeling that this next year may hold surprises
that I do not know of yet that will require my time or emotional healing
so I am listening to what I feel I need to do. :)

I see your point but I would also hate to make other members feel guilty for
not taking a position. It's not a TOPS rule that you have to be an
officer/chair/etc. and it's not a requirement. I have met some people who
are VERY shy and are NOT public speakers. I have met many members like this
over the years. I was in one chapter who was going to start drawing names
for people to do programs. Several people said if that's the case they were
going to quit because they don't want to do programs, hold an office, etc.
Some people need a break.....like myself. Some people aren't there enough
because of other commitments. Some people are shy and can't speak in public.
And so on so we shouldn't make our members feel bad or guilty or like they
need to quit over this issue.
Just my opinion......

It is so sad that the same members have to step up to the plate over and
over again. Wonder if going back to term limits would help with this. If
you've finished you commitment then it is time for someone new. If you are
a member who has not held an office or have not held one in many years step
up. Give those that have done this so much a chance to rest, and recharge.
Happy elections,

It must be nice to have members that want to take an office. We too have
elections tonight and I'm sure our officers will remain the same. Will
let
everyone know tonight if I'm right and all of our officers are the same.

hi we had our elections today and I am at the end of my term as
co-leader. I am ready to rest and recharge and get some new blood in
place.
