Katherine

Since the beginning of the year I have gained 6 lbs. Last year I gained 20 lbs. The year before that I had made KOPS at the beginning of the year and then got pregnant and by the end of the year I lost my KOPS status. I have felt like you many times. When I manage to lose a pound or more a week someone always comes in and loses 3 or more pounds that week. We all do it and we shouldn't. We should only compare ourself to ourself not to others. It may be easier for them to lose weight or they may just have more to lose.

I haven't really had anything really click in me to get me moving yet but two weeks ago I started a contest, my parents against my sister and I. The first week I lost over 2 pounds and hoping tonight will bring about another loss of about the same amount. With the contest I need to eat 5 times a day, drink 100 oz of water, exercise among others. I did pretty well last week with everything and feel I'm doing ok this week but we will see at weigh in tonight how I did.

I would tell you to just start small. Make one change and stick to it for a week and then add something else. If you aren't already, try eating on a smaller plate. It takes a bit to get use to but when you do you won't be needing to eat more than one helping because you will feel full. If you fall off again get back on right away so you don't get off track too much.

Subject: [CyberTOPS] struggling to get back on track - OT

Hello my friends! I hope that your week has been treating you well. There is
something that I just don't understand and I hope somebody can help me out. In
2007 I attended my first ARD and I was so over joyed by al the winners up on
the stage. I knew in my heart that I also wanted to be in the spot light up on
the stage.

Throughout 2008 I worked really hard and it had paid off. At the end of the
year I lost 53.4 pounds. Not only had I lost more weight in one year then I
have my life my dream came true. I won 2nd place in Division 2 for 2008.

Now you'd think after the wonderful year I had last year it would have
motivated me to keep going strong. Well since the beginning of the year I have
been struggling. One week I'll be on track and do everything correctly. Then
the next I'll fall off the wagon. Looking back throughout this year I know
that I have been off track way more then I've been on track.

Since the beginning of the year I have lost 13 pounds. I know that is
something which I should be proud of, but how can I be proud. I mean were
already in September and I feel like a total failure. Especially when I know
that other people have lost 40, 45, and some even 50 pounds this year.

The past 3 weeks have been really ruff for me. I gained 1 pound during my last
two meetings and if I have another gain this week it won't come as a surprise.
I wish could understand why I can't get myself back on track again.

This morning when I woke up I felt ready to get back on track again. I started
off my day with a bow of multi-grain cheerios, 1% milk, and strawberries. It
felt great and I knew that I was back in the game again. This afternoon I once
again feel off the wagon again. I can't even begin to tell you all the food
that I have eaten today. The worst part is I haven't been measuring any of my
food out or writing it down.

I really want to get back on track again and stay on track once and for all..
If anybody has any advice for me I would greatly appriciate it.

Thanks,
Katherine
