Subject: [CyberTOPS] My Introduction
Hi Everyone,
I signed up for cybertops a couple of days ago and after looking around for
a
bit I thought this would be a great time to write my introduction so y'all
could get to know me a little better.
My name is Katherine and I'm from TOPS chaper #CA 1318, Santa Clara. I
officially joined TOPS on May 19th, 2005, so yep I just celerbrated my 4th
TOPS anniversary or TOPSiversay as I like to call it.
During my first year in TOPS I lost 29 pounds.I was over the moon when I got
my certificate and everyone in my chapter cheered and clapped for me. The
next
year I gained all of my weight back. The next couple of year my weight
pretty
much stayed within the same range. I would lose some weeks but then I would
gain it right back again.
It wasn't until I attended my first ARD weekend in 2008 when I finally got
back on track again. What was my motivation you ask? It was seeing all of
the
winners up on the stage. I especially was in awe when the 2007 IRD queen
came
out and we all gave her a standing oviation.
The rest of 2008 I really worked hard, to drop the pounds. Yes I did have a
few gains here and there, hey I'm human it's going to happen. Anyways in
2008
I lost 53.4 pounds. I was thrilled with myself and I was over the moon when
I
found out that I was a division winner.
My dream came true and I was up on the stage at ARD this year receiving my
ribbon. I was really nervous about being up there, so somebody else read my
story for me. I even got some laughs during it and people applaud at some
things too.
The most joyous part was walkin down the isle at the end with all of the
other
winners. Everyone in the audience was giving us standing oviation. They were
clapping, cheering for us. It was such an amazing feeling. Then all the
people
coming up and congratulating me was just so great.
It's funny a couple hours before I was suppose to go up on stage I was
freaking out. I was considering not going up there. I was so scared and
crying
pretty hard. I'm so relived that I over came my fears and got up on the
stage.
Because i wouldn't have traded that moment for anything in the world.
hugs,
Katherine
