I was a bad girl last week and I paid for it this week with a gain of 1.6
pounds. I WILL do better next week.


I almost did not go to meeting just because I knew I had a gain, but I
knew I
needed to go for the accountability. And I'm really glad I did
because I was
witness to one of God's acts of grace. We have an ongoing
50/50 contest where
there is one black marble and lots of white marbles
in a can. We pay 25 cents
per chance and the person whose name is drawn
gets an opportunity to try and
draw the black marble. If it's not drawn
the pot grows. If the black marble is
drawn, they win the pot. Today, a
new member (in fact, this was only her
second week as a member) drew
the black marble. Here's the best
part......Linda's apartment lease was
due to expire this month and she needed
to move because of bad
neighbors that management did not do anything about.
She is on a fixed
income so her apartment choices are limited and money is
very tight.
She had found another place but needed $238 - $200 for the deposit
and
$38 for the application fee. Her winnings came to $243.80. We were all
just blown away and Linda could hardly stop crying for joy.


So all in all I would say it was a good day at TOPS!
