I just got an email about this yesterday so it's brand new "hot off the
press."  We've had to use the 4 digit number for a long time when looking up
chapters. Anyway, this is the official word:

"Chapter ID is: two letter postal designation, four digit chapter number.
TOPS and the city may be added if desired to form the chapter name. The
number symbol (#) is no longer used and the comma between the Chapter ID and
the city is optional."

I can remember years ago (probably 20 now) that a banner our chapter did for
Fun Day was disqualified because we forgot the comma. Guess we've come a
long way since then!  It was a wonderful banner too :-)
