Hi Everyone,
weigh in: lost 1.2 pounds
exercise: 10.99 miles
I was very please with my results for this week. When it comes to weight loss
and getting to my goal, I have a new attitude. Any loss small or good is worth
something to be proud of. So yes I"m very proud of my 1.2 pound loss, yeah for
me. I'm now 13.90 pounds away from my half way goal. I can hardly believe it
myself.
How was everyone's 4th of July? I hope y'all had a great holiday. I went into
Nevada to see the fireworks from Lake Tahoe with my mom. We both agreed that
it was well worth the 4.5 hour drive it took to get there.
Saturday morning, 4th of July, instead of going to the gym, I went for a walk
outside. It was just such a lovely day out that I had to be out in the sun. I
walked for about 35 minutes getting in 1.34 miles, which I was happy with.
It's for sure that I don't walk neary as fast outside as I do on the
treadmill.
Shortly before leaving for Lake Tahoe, I packed some healthy snacks for the
road. Almonds, baby carrots, and fresh fruit . Around 9:45 we were on the road
and headng for Nevada and I was enjoying baby carrots, apple and almonds. We
stopped in Rio Linda at Subway for lunch. I had a veggie delight on whole
wheat bread with light mustrad and swiss cheese. On the side I got some baked
chips and a bottle of water. We finally arrived at the hotel in Carson City,
Nevada around 3:15pm.
After checking in, we drove down to Safeway to pick up some snacks. I got a
bottle of water, yogurt and a special dark hershey bar (which I split with my
mom) Remember dark chocolate is the good chocolate for you.
The hotel we stayed at was a Motel 6 which is nothing fancy. The bed's were
like sleeping on a pile of wood. Oh yeah and they were like double size kids
beds. My mom is about 5'3" and her feet just about reached the edge of the
bed. I'm a little shorter then my mom 5'1" so I was okay. We we there for just
one night so it didn't really matter. Besides at first we were just going to
go up for the day and come home in the evening. However I knew that would be
close to 11:00pm at night, and with all the crazyness on the road, especially
on a holiday, I didn't want any part of it. Not to mention the long drive
home. Spending one night there was just fine.
We ate at Harrah's Casino for dinner. I splurged a little bit and had a garden
salad with some ranch dressing. I also had sweet potatoe fries, for the very
first time which were totally awesome. For desert I had a small two scope
sundae.
After dinner my mom went to go and do a litle gambling. I just watched her
gamble. I find it more fun to watch other people gamble then do it mysef.
Around 7:30pm we left Harrahs and walked down to the Lake. It was about a 20
minute walk down there. We weren't able to sit right near the lake becuase it
was already packed with a mob of people. Instead we sat on an area higher up.
The show was amazing one of the best I ever seen.
Once it was over we walked back to Harrah's. I was really glad that we walked
down to the lake becauase with the mob of people there was no way that any car
could get through. Although a few people did drive down to the Lake, but you
could tell them were annoyed by all the people because they weren't able to
get through.
Arriving back at the car after about 25 minutes of walking from the lake. We
were ready to head back to Carson City. It took us about 35 minutes just to
get back on the main drag due to the heavy traffic. Everybody was honking and
getting annoyed. I especially was getting annoyed with all traffic blocking
the intersection. We had to turn right onto the main drag so it wasn't a huge
deal. The cars that had to turn left it was a nightmare for them. I felt awful
for this one women, she had to wait through 5 light changes becuase of the
blocked intersection. I just don't understand why drivers can't get it into
there heads YOU DON'T BLOCK THE INTERSECTION.
Got back to the hotel around 12:00am and just crashed into bed. I was so
exhausted that all I wanted to do was sleep. I slept all the way through until
5:45am this morning. I took a shower and got ready for the day. My mom woke up
around 6:00am and got ready. 6:30am we were packed and out the door.
For breakfast I had two eggs, 1 pancake with 2 tsp of butter and 2 tsp powder
sugar (I don't like syurp). Then we stopped at Raley's to get a couple of
snacks for the ride home. At 10:00am on Sunday I had my morning snack some 12
almonds (which I brought from home) a bottle of water and an apple (which I
got at Raleys).
We arrived back home at 12:30pm. I felt that over all I did really well while
on the road and away this weekend. I was so proud of how well I stayed on
track while away, yeah for me.
Oh my gosh I've jumped on the Gren Monster band wagon. I know y'all are
proberly saying what is the Green Monster. Well basically it's a smoothie with
spinach. Funny thing is you can't even taste the spinach. I've been having one
everyday this week. I enjoy them so much that I took a picture which I have
attached.
This week for the 15 week challenge we had to bring out workouts out doors. I
went over to the Los Gatos Creek Trail, walked for 30 minutes, and I did some
other exercises. I found a bench where I was able to do some pushups, tricep
dips. I also did some squats and lunges. It felt really great working
outdoors. A nice change from the gym.
Okay well I think I rambled on enough for this week, sorry I hope this post
wasn't to long.
xoxo,
Katherine
PS. I hope y'all have a totally, kick butt time in Florida.
