Almost 2 weeks down, 50 to go.
How are those resolutions working for you? Did you make some? How about
goals? They can be set, revised and made any day - not just New Year's Eve
just as we can formulate and re-formulate goals.
The important thing is to make them S.M.A.R.T. (heard it before)
S - Specific (lose X number of lbs., exercise 15 minutes)
M - Measurable (scale, clothes)
A - Attainable (absolutely, not in one day or one week or even one month,
but attainable)
R - Realistic (absolutely - with exercise and proper eating)
T - Timely (by the end of the year)
That said.
RESOLUTION #1
With the New Year many people make resolutions - lose weight, quit smoking,
cut back on spending, etc. Did you? Mine are always the same (lose weight,
get to goal, clean house). I am tired of only having a couple of pair of
pants that really fit.right now I am sitting in my pajamas, because my jeans
are in the wash.it'd be great to be able to pick up any pair of pants and
"slip" them on! Well in order to "slip" them on I need to quit "slipping"
up!
RESOLUTION #2
Meaning to look/see with clarity as in the resolution on a TV (measured as
DPIs - or in TOPS verbiage it could stand for Daily Put In System) or
through the lens of a camera. If we look at our weight loss with "clarity"
then we can resolve the issue with our excess weight. We have a
problem.there is a solution. Take the emotional filters off and look
"clearly" at your problem. Too much take-out? Too little exercise? Too
little planning? What is the "solution" in your resolution?
RE-SOLUTION #3
Close your eyes, think back to the time when you were the most
successful.what were you doing (Loretta eating mustard on everything), how
did you feel (great), what was driving you? So you already know the
"SOLUTION" - so do a re-solution and take the lessons/activities from that
time and do it again!
REal SOLUTION #4
Real solution to excess holiday weight gain? - is to get moving! According
to the CDC only half of us are meeting the minimum recommendations for
exercise and that exercise is the most important factor in weight control!
