Hi Cybertops Friends,
On Friday I was watching Dr.Oz. and there was a young woman Jessica on the show.
They didn't say on how old she was but I think she was in her late 20's or early
30's. Jessica has to take care of her mom plus she works and has a family.
Jessica's mom had some kind of cancer.
Dr.Oz had a psychiatrist Dr.Janet Taylor on and here's the 5 Step Emotional Plan
for Emotional Eating:
Dr. Oz tv show recap: 5 step emotional eating plan
Jessica knows she eats for underlying reasons. Her mother has cancer for one
thing.
Weight 347
Waist 53"
Body fat: over 50%, can't measure it
BMI 58, should be less than 30 and over 40 is mobid
HDL 21
BP 140/95
Dr. Janet Taylor, psychiatrist, developed a 5 step plan for emotional eating and
to boost self-confidence. Physical hunger begins with the brain. Emotional
eating is how we feel.
1.Pay attention when eating, am I honoring myself with what I'm getting ready to
eat?
2.Consistency, plan ahead for meals.
3.Mindfulness, eating in front of tv is mindless & will overeat.
4.Understand what you're feeling, call a friend and tell them about your day.
Often connect events of day with eating as reward or stressed. When stressed
you often choose salty or sweets.
5.Deal with guilt, are you worth taking care of?
They said Jessica will have regular contact with Dr. Oz's staff in an attempt to
keep her on track.
Since the show Jessica joined a Facebook group called "Step it Up" whose members
attempt to walk 10,000 steps every day.
TOPS Hugs,
Janice from Ohio
