No scale (nor any other measuring device) measures values with absolute
accurace, except those at the National Bureau of Standards. Why? Because
the law says the NBS is the only entity that can declare what the absolue
value is. Also, no measuring device is capable of absolute accuracy unless
it is in a controlled environment and some law has defined it as the right
one.
All weight scales do measure the difference in weight from time-to-time
with fair to excellent accuracy. So, if you weigh on a different scale
from the one at your Chapter, expect it to show a different weight. If it
shows the same weight, that's just pure chance.
