I don't blame Bob for being angry with Kristen, Ron and Filipe. Not
getting enough calories is just as bad as getting too many.

Subject: [CyberTOPS] The Biggest Loser recap (OT)

In case you watch the show see below! I didn't write this but wanted to
share. I am currently 4 episodes behind so I have no idea what's going on!
LOL! I hope to catch up again this weekend.

George :)

** **
*This Week on The Biggest Loser: Full of Emotions*
Things got emotional early on as we picked up from the previous week.
Kristin was happy to still be on the Ranch, but Tara was upset that her
teammate Laura had gone home. I needed to talk with Tara because she knew I
told Mike to send Laura home (she needed to recover from the worst injury in
*Biggest Loser* history!). I let Tara know it was time to focus on HER. The
rest of the week played out just as emotionally. Here's what I mean.
*Quiz Time:* Alison met the contestants in a room set up like a game show
studio. Rosemary Ellis, editor-in-chief of *Good Housekeeping* magazine, was
there to help Alison lead a series of fitness and food trivia questions for
the six remaining players. They guessed the number of servings in a
"personal" pizza, the healthiest oil, the leanest type of meat, and the
increased amount of steps that people take if they use a pedometer. As the
two with the most correct answers, Kristin and Mike continued to a bonus
round, where they had to guess the amount of calories in a fried fish
sandwich with tartar sauce. Mike guessed 635 calories, just shy of the
correct amount of 640. For being the lucky winner, he'd get a trip to New
York and a tour of the Good Housekeeping Research Institute, where the
magazine tests all sorts of consumer goods. *Caged In:* This week's
challenge was not for those fearful of heights. The players were suspended
in their own cages 45 feet above the ground, grasping ropes that held up
their body weight. The idea was to stay steady and keep holding on. If they
let go of the rope, their cage dropped a few feet, then they were lowered to
the ground and were out of the game. Mike was the first out because he
couldn't stand being up so high. In the end, only Helen and Tara still hung
on, and of course challenge rock star Tara managed to outlast Helen. For
winning, she got a choice: $10,000 or a one-pound advantage at the weigh-in.
She had until the weigh-in to decide. *Video Food Diary:* Bob had his team
film what they ate throughout one day so that they could show off what they
had learned at the Ranch so far. Unfortunately, the players still had some
lessons to learn because Bob definitely saw some major flaws in the meals
they created. Some of the meals were way too low in calories to fuel what
the contestants were doing in their workouts. Plus, there was hardly any
protein included. Bob talked over the video, showing his team their mistakes
so they could grow from the experience. *Open Communication:* As my team
suffered through some killer two-minute sprints as part of their last-chance
beatings, Mike got frustrated and punched the treadmill. He needed to
finally let go of the inner "fat kid" mentality that he was a failure. Mike
and I started talking, and it quickly became clear that he had some anger
issues and needed to talk to his dad immediately he'd been feeling that
anger and bottling it up for a long time. He was upset because Ron had let
Mike and his brother Max follow in his footsteps and become overweight. I'm
glad that Mike let it all out and that Ron now knows things need to change
permanently. *Weighing In:* Taking a risk and betting on herself, Tara chose
to take the $10,000 prize from the Challenge instead of the one-pound
advantage. And it ended up being a good bet because she lost 5 pounds this
week! Ron lost 4 pounds, putting him at 298. Finally the 54-year-old dad was
below 300 pounds, a place he hadn't been since his early teen years. Mike
lost an awesome 8 pounds and was the biggest loser of the week. Kristin, on
the other hand, gained a pound, and Helen lost only one, so they were both
below the yellow line and up for elimination. In the elimination room, it
came down to a tie with the votes, and since Kristin was the one with the
lowest percentage of weight loss, she was the one to go. Back at home,
Kristin is an inspiration to her friends and family. In fact, two months
after leaving the Ranch, she gave a motivational speech about her time on
*The
Biggest Loser,* saying that change is possible for anyone willing to try.
She's lost a total of 132 pounds since the start of her weight-loss journey.
*Next Week:* It's the most weight lost in *Biggest Loser* history and you
want to be there to see how far the last five contestants have come! Be sure
to tune in to NBC next Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.

*JILLIAN'S TIP OF THE DAY* *Read the Fine Print*
During the food quiz, all the contestants guessed the wrong number of
serving sizes in the pizza. The size of the pie deceived them into thinking
it was a personal-size pizza, when it really contained eight servings! Learn
your lesson from them because from now on I want you to spend a lot of time
reading labels. It will get easier trust me. Once you're familiar with a
particular product's label, you'll know if it's a good choice in the future.
Having said that, don't assume that the products you buy every week will
always be a good choice. Companies do change their product formulas, serving
sizes, etc. So if a favorite product suddenly has a new look, read the label
carefully.
