I very rarely use the packages when I make tacos, mainly because of the
sodium content.  To one pound of ground beef I add 3 tsps. chili powder,
1/2-1 tsp. ground cumin, 1/2-1 tsp. oregano and then salt and pepper to
taste. I usually put in the max amount of cumin because I like it :-)  I
also add a can of RoTel and sometimes some salsa to spice it up.  Makes a
great taco filling!
