[CyberTOPS] need ideas

When my husband was in Iraq for Christmas we sent him some of the normal stuff I was already sending like food that he liked and just wrapped them up. Definitely pictures of friends or family is great and some things that could pass the little bit of down time they get like playing cards or other games. You could even wrap the ornaments up and have him unwrap some before Christmas if the package gets there early enough. Knowing that they have to wait to open the next ornament will help the time go by. I would also send a card either with the package or separate. Calling cards if needed. (My husband had bought a satellite phone while over there so he did not need to get a phone card.)

For my husband it was the little things that helped. He was disappointed when he didn't get any mail. Hope your son and his fellow soldiers return safely. Let them know that my family and I say thank you and will keep them in our prayers. My husband is currently getting ready for a year long deployment in Afghanistan next year. Hoping this time he won't be there for Christmas.

Subject: [CyberTOPS] need ideas

Hello everyone,
My son is in Iraq for the second time, and this time he will be there for
Christmas. This will be his first Christmas away from home. I am going to send
him a Christmas tree and ornaments and lights so he can decorate and have a
tree. There are 8 people over there including him. 1 woman and 7 men. I need
some ideas for small gifts to send for them to open on Christmas, besides the
usual deoderant and tooth paste. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Debby
