Exercise 1 hour ( no longer limping but must be very careful! ) and weight is
the SAME exactly: 183.2.
So I have 33.2 to GOAL, same as last week. My year-end goal of 165 is slipping
out of reach...I think I'll have to set 170 lbs as my year-end goal; it's more
realistic at this point. Kops goal is 150 still for 2009.
I stayed off of sugar and wheat and dairy which really does help me, but did
not have a loss this week due to eating TOO MANY NUTS!
I didn't want to cut nuts out of my plan... but now I realize they may be a
trigger food, especially when salted. But a few plain nuts was no problem in
the past.
Does anyone else have a problem with nuts and what recommendation do you have?
I am going to stay away from the salted ones now, and maybe a small handful of
nuts on a salad or one Tbsp nutbutter ( not both ) is OK daily without 'going
NUTS!'
And sugar IS an ingredient in table salt which could be on the salted nuts.
It's a small point, but to eat sugar free, as I wish, sea salt is better I
think.
I also had fries eating out twice so it's quite obvious why I did not have a
loss! I ought to give up fries too but I'd like to allow them once a month or
less, knowing there's nothing healthy about them!
Everything in moderation is a good motto, I think, UNLESS something is a
trigger food. I am aiming for NO trigger foods so I can be free from a binge
and sabotaging a weekly loss! I used to be able to handle a candy bar once a
week. Now that's a trigger, so I substitute a fruit-nut bar as my reward food
( if I have a loss ) and it works. I think I'll have the right 'recipe' soon!
I take prednisone daily now long term so it's important for me to watch the
triggers.
Yesterday I tossed aside the home scale. I want to focus on better eating and
not on the scale, so my weight in at Tops is going to be a surprise each week!
And good news - my husband and son brought my old treadmill into the bedroom
where I can USE it. The basement was too damp and I have not used the
treadmill in 2 years. I hope to soon be able to walk well enough - I will try
5 minutes very slowly today and work from there! My gym membership did not
get much use this year...maybe I won't need it now.
Last thing: Does anyone have the old Tops poem "7 days to go"? I want to read
it to my chapter but have not seen it for years. Thanks!
Di
