[CyberTOPS] Acid Reflux/Nexium Question (OT)

I went to the ENT yesterday, once again, for the constant throat pain and throat clearing and hoarsness I have had for almost 3 years. I have been to a Pulmonologist more than once, had a Bronchoscopy in 2006, was given steroids and inhalers which did nothing for me but make me gain weight, and this will be the third ENT I've been too not to mention all the regular MD's and allergists I've been too over the years. I finally just gave up because I was tired of spending all this money and getting no results. 
 
Today, after 2 hours and lots of tests including a scope up my nose and down my throat, I was diagnosed with severe acid reflux. I have had other doctors mention this to me but they have never given me acid reflux medication. They have always just given me tips and then some stupid steroids which I will never take again for this. She explained it all to me fully (she actually seemed to care), she gave me this big brochure on acid reflux, and prescribed me Nexium which I will start next Friday. My question is......has anyone used this and has it helped and what do you think about it? I can't wait to start it because, after three years, I am soooo sick and tired of dealing with this and hope and pray it alleviates the problem!!!

I can't believe all the things we do, eat, drink, etc. that cause acid reflux. I will, for sure, stop doing those things ASAP because being pain free is more important to me then that drink or that chocolate or that salsa or etc. It seems everything *I* drink, eat, do, etc. causes acid reflux and I've never had chest pain, burning, or anything coming up so I never really thought it was acid reflux. I believe I was wrong.
