Good question Nan..
I most definitely know I'm a food addict.. I'll be sitting there eating a
meal and I constantly think about my next meal for the day.. nothing in
between.. just food...I've come to the conclusion that know one can change
me except myself.. No psychiatrist, no counsellor, no group therapy.. just
myself..If I put my mind to it I know I can do it.. but something is holding
me back.. when I figure it out then I'll do something..

 all I have a question to ask, but I don't want you to answer immediately
butthink about it first. Do you believe that overeating is addictive
behavior?? I do believe it is an addictive behavior for me.  We need food to
survive. I am addicted to food but I can't quit eating.  It is unlike an
alcoholaddition or a drug addiction where you can stop doing it, but an
addictionjust the same.  While TOPS has helped me immensely I have come to
theconclusion that I need something more, perhaps behavioral therapy
orcounseling.   Alcoholics have AA and Drug users have their help.  There is
agroup here called OA (Overeaters Anonymous) but it is too religious for me.
Perhaps I need psychiatric help.  I know that I was deprived of food as
achild because my mom was a widow with 8 children and food was
sometimesscarce.  Perhaps that is a place to start. Anyway, let me
 know your ideas on this and perhaps we can have a discussionabout the
